The Humane Society of St. Thomas
Since 1957, the Humane Society of St. Thomas has been sheltering abandoned animals, fighting cruelty, animal neglect and working to create an environment of respect, responsibility, and compassion for all animals throughout the territory. They are an open admission shelter, meaning that their doors are always open for any animal that they can accept. The Humane Society of St. Thomas is 501c3 non-profit organization. They are the only animal shelter serving with residents of St. Thomas.

Pets with Wings (PWW) was started by Leslie Hurd and Rhea Vasconcellos in 2012 when they saw a need to provide good homes and new lives for some of the island’s neediest animals. Although many find wonderful homes here, there are not enough adopters for the volume of homeless animals on island.
THE GOAL OF PETS WITH WINGS:
To transport as many homeless animals as possible from the Humane Society of STT and the surrounding communities to rescue groups, shelters and potential adopters on the U.S. mainland where there are shortages of adoptable pets.

Megan Lyn Born in New Jersey, living in St. Thomas since 2012, visiting since 1995. From a young age I was intrigued and fascinated by the vivid Caribbean culture. Drawing inspiration from all the colorful people, architecture, music, and nature of the Virgin Islands, I try to incorporate as many rich colors as l can while maintaining my wild imagination and love for surrealism. Thanks to many people in the community, I have had the honor of creating art all over St. Thomas to murals in Tillett Gardens and Red Hook. To RooT42, a restaurant in Meagens bay where my art has had a permanent home for the last 4 years. I continue to be inspired by my surroundings of these beautiful islands, and its vibrant inhabitants.
